Information we collect
When you book a repair or place an order, we collect:
- Contact details — name, email, phone, shipping address.
- Device & repair info — device model, reported issues, photos you upload, and ticket history.
- Order info — products purchased, payment confirmation (we never store full card numbers — our payment processor handles that).
- Website usage — pages visited, approximate location (city/region), and browser type, collected anonymously to improve the site.
How we use it
- To diagnose, quote and complete your repair.
- To process and ship shop orders and handle returns.
- To send service updates — repair status, shipping confirmation, and (only if you opt in) occasional tips and offers.
- To prevent fraud and keep our technicians and customers safe.
When we share it
Only with the service providers who help us operate — payment processors, shipping carriers, email delivery, and our hosting platform. Each is bound by contract to use your data only for the job we hired them to do, and to protect it.
We will disclose information when legally required — a valid court order, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Teltaks, our customers or others.
Your choices
- Access & correction — you can view and update your account info anytime under My Account, or email us.
- Marketing — unsubscribe from any email with one click. Transactional messages (repair updates, order confirmations) are always sent.
- Deletion — request erasure of your data; we will remove it unless we are legally required to keep records.
Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — HTTPS encryption, secure payment processing, restricted internal access, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies: a shopping cart session, a remember-me token when you log in, and anonymous analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; the site still works, though some features (like the cart) need them.
Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Ontario residents
Under the CCPA, Ontario residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect, and may opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us below.
